Sharjah Government's stand at GITEX Technology Week 2014 was honored by the visit of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, on the first day of the exhibition, as well as a number of
high-ranking personalities and officials. His Highness was welcomed by Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah eGovernment, who guided His Highness through the latest smart services launched by the department.

Sharjah, UAE, October 12th 2014- The government of Sharjah will simplify paperwork for residents and nationals through providing 24/7 services,Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of E-Government Department said on Sunday.

Sheikh Khalid made the announcement during theinauguration of the stand hosting Sharjah Government Departments in GITEX Technology Week 2014 today in Dubai.

The stand is home to 28 Governmental Departments set on leveraging state-of-the-art technological tools and standards to position Sharjah as a leader in ICT innovation.

During an inauguration attended by scores of high-ranking personalities, Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi declared that "The Government of Sharjah is keen on providing 24/7 services and simplifying paperwork for the sake of comfort and satisfaction of nationals and residents in the Emirate, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah".

He added that: "Sharjah Government's participation this year is exceptional and creative. It shows the efforts that were put into incrementally improving the way we provide governmental services through modern digital channels, and how we are up-to-date with the latest developments and innovations in global ICT, especially when it comes to mobility with the launch of numerous smart applications for the first time". Sharjah's governmental departments and institutions present at the stand will focus on showcasing the most notable smart services developed.

It is worth mentioning that GITEX Technology Week 2014 is an iconic regional event that attracts global tech organizations. It is a unique platform that allows participants to know the latest innovations presented by the Government of Sharjah departments and will ultimately benefit users.
